In January 2004 with frustration rising against president Jean-Bertand Aristide, angered mobs took to the streets of Haiti. After weeks of violence that spread throe out the country finally making it’s way to the capitol of Port-au-Prince, president Aristide was forced to fled the country leaving behind a poor and desperate Haiti still trying to find a path to civil obedience and brighter days. Schwarz’s coverage of the conflict included an iconic picture of a young boy looting a raw peace of meat that was widley published and receved a world press award among many other awards.
