Israel: Uprooting Settlers
Located in the center of the Gaza strip Gush Katif settlement block was a bizarre landscape, a landscape fenced to separation by 38 years of occupation and conflict. But it was Ariel Sharon, the man who build so many of these settlements, who made history by uprooting 9,000 Jewish settlers and ending Jewish presence in Gaza. Schwarz moved to Gaza and lived among the settlers for the last three months before they were forced out. This work won the acclaimed Visa Dor in Perpignan 2006, Schwarz also completed his first feature documentary film titled “The Block” covering the settlers last months in Gaza.
